Located in the vibrant heart of Sacramento’s 16th Street corridor, Scorpio is a captivating blend of coffee shop and wine bar that draws in locals and visitors with its artfully crafted beverages and thoughtfully curated menu. More than just a spot for a caffeine fix, Scorpio offers an inviting atmosphere that marries modern design with a relaxed, cozy vibe—perfect for savoring a quiet moment or catching up with friends.
At Scorpio, the menu is a deliberate balance of specialty drinks and artisanal bites, each with a refined yet approachable flair. Coffee lovers will find their new favorite in the Cortado, praised for its smooth, balanced espresso-to-milk ratio, or perhaps the uniquely refreshing Espresso Tonic that tingles the palate with crisp effervescence. For those seeking a gentle, aromatic indulgence, the Bouquet Latte is a revelation—lavender, rose, and chamomile blend seamlessly with rich espresso and milk, offering a sip that soothes as much as it delights. Tea aficionados aren’t forgotten; the Chai Latte here is crafted with black tea, warming spices, honey, and just the right touch of sweetness, wrapping you in cozy comfort.
The cuisine complements these beverages beautifully, with standout items like the Mushroom Toast that layers roasted oyster and shimeji mushrooms atop soft pain de mie, finished with garlic aioli, a perfectly sous-vide egg, and a hint of togarashi shichimi spice for a savory bite that's both rich and nuanced. The Avocado Toast and Strawberry Ricotta Toast showcase fresh, vibrant ingredients and thoughtful flavor pairings designed to elevate familiar favorites. Sweet tooth? You won’t want to miss the freshly baked pastries or the blueberry muffin, which locals rave about.
Real patrons’ experiences reveal what makes Scorpio truly special. Gabriel Torres praises the espresso as “one of the best in Sacramento,” noting even the drip coffee sometimes tastes like strawberry—a nod to the careful sourcing and roasting practices. Maryam, a food critic, was impressed not only by the “gorgeous” and versatile interior but also by the coffee’s nuanced, fruity balance that reminded her of Barcelona’s finest brews. Destiny Meyer highlights the friendly baristas and the deliciousness of the avocado toast pairing, while Liliana M appreciates the abundance of natural light and the welcoming, chill energy that encourages lingering. Meanwhile, Lynn Gilbert’s tribute to the mushroom toast as a “distinct marvel” with its blend of savory mushrooms and the perfect kick of heat perfectly sums up Scorpio’s commitment to flavor depth and thoughtful presentation.
Whether you're in search of a meticulously crafted coffee or a serene spot to unwind with a small plate and a glass of wine in the evening, Scorpio offers an authentic, enriching experience. It’s a place where quality ingredients meet expert preparation and genuine warmth, creating a welcoming sanctuary in Sacramento's bustling cityscape.
Always really good coffee and espresso. One of the best in Sacramento. I even like the espresso better than the current one at Temple which is called Burundi or something like that... Even the drip coffee is on point and taste like a strawberry sometimes lol Small menu but they specialized in a couple drinks and sweets
They have Dak and Sey! I got a cortado, my friends got a flat white and sproton. All tasty! The avocado toast was really good too
Scorpio Coffee in downtown Sacramento completely surprised me. The space is gorgeous, modern, and designed so well, with plenty of options to sit—some private, some outdoors, even stand-up bars that give it a cool, flexible vibe. The coffee was excellent. I went with their light to medium roast, fruity and balanced, and it instantly reminded me of the coffee I loved in Barcelona. The baristas are outstanding, with milk texture that’s spot on. The müsli was incredible, with fresh fruit, berries, peach, and super crisp granola. Honestly one of the most delicious things I’ve had in a café. I was blown away by the whole experience. Between the coffee, food, vibe, and service, this is easily one of my new favorite spots in Sacramento and one I’d highly recommend—it’s absolutely worth a detour if you’re anywhere near downtown.
Came on a solo date after hearing great reviews and wanted to try a new (to me) spot. This coffee shop is very cute, brightly lit with natural lighting, and has a chill energy to it. The staff were nice and talked to me about their options, seating was a little limited inside but I was able to find an open seat. There is also seating outside that I’ll probably use next time when the weather is nice. I tried the hot chai latte and mushroom toast. The mushroom toast was incredible! I wish the egg would’ve been cooked just slightly longer so the whites would’ve been more set. The toast was crispy, the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and savory, and everything balanced each other out. The latte was warm and tasty. It’s on par with other chai lattes I’ve had so next time I’ll get something different. They also had some wine options which I found interesting! Overall this coffee shop is cute and I’ll be coming back.
I received the most joyful, patient welcome here. The staff is truly a delight. When I had to make a sudden change from Eat In to To Go, they pivoted effortlessly and were so kindly accommodating. The mushroom toast is distinct: marvelously savory, a tasty blend of shrooms, enhanced in protein by an egg. The touch of heat sprinkled on top elevates the flavor. Definitely a repeatable one.
i was looking for a new coffee shop to try and was happy to stumble across scorpio coffee. there were a good amount of people were working inside; they have lots of individual work spaces which was nice! i ended up sitting outside as they have a few outside tables to enjoy. i ordered the flash brew, which was excellent. the mushroom toast was FABULOUS. the variety of mushrooms with the runny yolk are a match made in heaven. the shallot aioli.. absolutely divine. the bread the toast comes on is so delicious. the perfect crunch on the outside, and pillowy soft on the inside. 10/10 recommend. super cute and modern inside! parking is limited to street paid parking, but worth a little walk to come here. the staff were all pretty quiet and kept to themselves, but not unfriendly. a must try if you're in the area!
Scorpio in Midtown is definitely a cool spot, but it comes with some trade-offs. I’d tried to go a couple of times before and walked away because of the long line both inside and out. Third time was the charm. We happened to pass by on a Monday, no line, and grabbed the last table outside. The outdoor seating was honestly the biggest downside. The table looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in a while, and the planter next to us had food scraps and trash in it, which attracted a lot of flies. Sitting there wasn’t the most comfortable experience. Inside, the ordering area feels cramped and chaotic. The line would flow better if it ran in another direction, and given how busy they are, they really need at least two cashiers. That said, the food and coffee were excellent. We ordered the avocado toast, pumpkin spice latte, mushroom bread, and oatmeal. everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The vibe overall is fun and modern, though the staff isn’t particularly friendly. It has that “we’re popular so we don’t have to try too hard” energy, which some people love for the exclusivity, but it’s not really my thing. In short: great coffee, great food, cool atmosphere, but crowded, a bit unfriendly, and the outdoor seating area could use more care. I’m still giving this place 5 stars. It might not be my cup of tea, but it’s gonna work for other people.
Scorpio stings—and I like it. Call me kinky. Scorpio’s drinks are brewed with precision. And with roasters like DAK and Sey in the mix, you’re sipping from a bean lineup that could headline Coachella. But where Scorpio really struts is the signature drink lineup. The Matcha Cream Soda? Iconic. I gasped. I sipped. I ordered another. And don’t pass on the food. The Strawberry Miso Toast with fresh ricotta and honey? Weird and wonderful—like if Björk were a brunch item. And the Mushroom Toast? A moody little masterpiece crowned with that sexy onsen egg. Total main character energy. Yes, the prices can make your wallet clench, and the portions...well, this ain't Costco. But the quality? Elevated. The ingredients? Thoughtful. The dietary labels? Clearer than your ex’s intentions. Veg-heads, gluten-free girlies, and oat milk lovers—you’re covered. The staff is sweet. The vibe? Chic Japandi minimalism. The comfort level? Somewhere between "Instagrammable" and "glad I have my chiropractor on speed dial." And unless you’re dining duo-style, good luck scoring a table—this place was clearly designed by someone who hates group projects. All tea, no shade—Scorpio Coffee brings something special to Sacramento’s coffee scene, and I am absolutely here for it. You should be too. Just maybe don’t come with a crowd. How I break down my ⭐ reviews: 1 - No. Not if it was the last thing on DoorDash. 2 - Meh. Maybe if I’m desperate, close, and high. 3 - Mid. Not texting the group chat about it. 4 - Hella solid. Planning my next visit. 5 - Shut up and take my money. Om Nom Nom.
